Oceans cover 70% of the Earth's surface area. Yet, we have very limited visibility of what happens out there. Illegal fishing, oil spills, and contraband smuggling are just some of the activities that go largely undetected. We want to bring visibility to all human footprints at sea so that we can help protect the environment and make maritime commerce more efficient.

Our Story
Our Story
PierSight has been close to a decade in the making. While Gaurav has been working on SAR since his early days at ISRO, Vinit was building prototypes and solutions for the aerospace and defense sector while at National Instruments. They met while collaborating on an ISRO project back in 2019. The rest, as they say, is history.

Gaurav graduated with a B.Tech in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST). Subsequently, he spent 9 years at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), contributing to the design and execution of 5 interplanetary and Earth observation missions, including the development of India's first airborne foliage penetration Synthetic Aperture Radar.

Vinit is a graduate in Electronics from BITS-Pilani and has spent 9 years at National Instruments building Test and Prototyping solutions for Space and Defense Industry. While working at National Instruments he worked closely with Indian Space Research Organisation and Ministry of Defence - India and contributed to multiple Space and Defence projects.

Mayank holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and has extensive experience in thermal design, analysis, and management of satellite and spacecraft subsystems. He has worked as a Design Engineer at ISRO and as a Senior Engineer at Azista-BST Aerospace Pvt. Ltd.
Tanmay holds a B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from IIST. He worked for 12 years at URSC, ISRO, in roles including Systems Engineer, Project Manager, and Deputy Project Director for Spacecraft Mechanical Systems before gaining experience as a Systems Architect for Spacecraft Bus at Azista.
Rabi is an Avionics graduate from IIST. He has 6.5 years of experience at ISRO, where he contributed to the design and realization of power systems for Earth Observation and Altimeter payloads. His expertise lies in the design and development of Electronic Power Conditioners.
Shreya holds an M.Tech in Antennas and is currently a part-time PhD scholar. She has over 15 years of experience collaborating on projects with the Space Applications Centre (ISRO, Ahmedabad) and University of Essex (Colchester, UK), among others.
Steffi holds a Master's in Mass Communication from PDEU and a Bachelor's in Commerce. She has gained experience through internships in Public Relations and Content Writing and specialises in media relations, content strategy, and marketing.

Tanmay has a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from IIST and nearly 9 years of experience with ISRO. He specializes in mechanisms and systems engineering for launch vehicles and deep space missions.
With B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Signal Processing from IIT-Kharagpur, Ayush has been creating solutions in the Aerospace-Defence and Radar Imaging domains. He was formerly a Developer at Mathworks.

Armed with a Ph.D. from Gujarat Technological University, Abhishek specializes in microprocessor systems. He enjoys developing hobby project videos and he has secured many patents in AI and energy management systems.
